WOG 3.59 Main Topic

Hi everyone!
I'm CoreWOG Team member and WOG 3.59 developer (mainly I'm graphic man, but try coordinate this project too).
I registered here because there is many people that still interesting in Heroes 3 and WOG (I hope:))
I opened that topic to all discussions about 3.59 release, that our team develop. You can ask all your questions about 3.59 here and I will try to answer.
Also I will inform you in this topic about developing progress (screenshots, news and etc.)

There 3 new towns, we planed to be added in 3.59 - Bastion (egyptian mythology), Haven (sea town) and Kremlin (slavonic mythology)

Now I present you some video clip. This clip demonstrate testing of 10-th town - Bastion in the game. It was made in testing process, and it shows "as is" situation, with some temporary elements or graphic; things that still do not work or work incorrectly. Do not worry about that things, we not finished yet:)

    Hi, Corwin, a warm welcome to you to be here. I've heard so much about you.
    Thank you for your present about Bastion. Glad to here that Bastion is still alive and under testing now. The inside Scene Graph of Bastion really impressed me pretty much. Well, nice job indeed! Also, some questions about 359 come out and I hope they will not embarrass you too much:
    1. What's the relationship between [wiki]WoG[/wiki] Team and CoreWoG Team? Though I'm a menmber of WoG Team, this question is still puzzling me for a long time.

    2. Who is the leader of CoreWoG Team? Is Sir. Four still active in CoreWoG Team and taking some responsibilities?

    3. What's the plan that CoreWoG Team wants to develop 359? Is there ANY avalible ordered schedule  to be shown?

    4. How long will we wog fans have to wait for new wog version released?

    yunings, thank you for good words.

    1. WOG Team is a part of CoreWOG team. That means every member of WOG Team is automatically member of CoreWOG team too, but there is a very few of them ho is active now. If you still have interest in WOG developing - we can discuss it with you        
    in detail. We have english part on our forum our forum, you welcome there, if you want, or we can talk here - as you wish.

    2. There is no explicit leader of our team, but I try to plane and coordinate our work. Sir. Four is almost not active now, but I have contact with him.

    3. This is too complicated question, I will talk about it sometimes more detailed :).

    4. I can't give you 3.59 release date, even approximately. Perhaps there will be some thing at and 2009 - beginning 2010. Not finished 3.59, but some test version. Perhaps.

    Is there something change for map editer in coming version?
    Can 3.58 maps work in v3.59?

    Thanks for the wonderful work.

    I extremely enjoy WOG, but still want to complain about the colors of the WOG new features (creatures, objects, artifacts).

    To me, maybe the color is a little too dark in most of these cases.

    It is not compatiable with HOMM3.

    Of course WOG should have her own style.

    But the problem is, can our fans have somehow lighter views?

    hi corwin. i am so glad that you have provide such a great news for wog 3.59. even though i am junior here in this bbs. i am so desperate to know when the 3.59 version will be released. as you know the test version is only eligble to a small amount of persons. i just wonder can the general public have a chance to try the alpha, beta, etc., before the full one release.

    What I care most is:

    1. lua support, is it available? It should not be difficult and I think I can help if no one else want to work on it.
    2. calling an external erm script file from within a map event. This is not working for 358f campaigns,

    For those in China, YouTube is unavailable - except for me.
    I get on YouTube every day. Even much more frequently than getting online here.

    1. About dark colors... don't know, I didn't pay attention on that...  But almost all token from another games graphic will be replaced in time.
    2. I think will be some test-version before final 3.59 release.
    3. Lua is already plugged in WOG platform and works.
    4. "calling an external erm script file..." - I did nit understand.

    I don't know if you have seen it before - there is one more clip about Bastion. It was made a few years ago - Youtube link

    Well, I think I'm already in now :-) WoG is a worldwide game, needs different languages version to spread. I have registered in the forum you just provided and I think we can talk here and there. But for other Chinese wog fans, they'd prefer you staying here to bring them news steadily 0_*

    As far as I know, Sir. Four is one of thoes guys who have the resources code taken from Slava. If he isn't active, who will do the hard code part for 359?

    Currently in 358f, if you want to write erm in a custom WoG map, you need to embed erm script into your map events. Many WoG maps have embed script, an example is the Official Campaign.

    If script has to be embedded, it cannot be shared between maps, and it is difficult to edit.

    This is a problem for 358f and WoG maps.

    But that's not a problem now for 359, since Lua will have native support of calling external script.

    I'm looking forward to create WoG 359 maps with Lua script, that would be great fun.

    Hh, I am extrembly enjoying the Wog games now .
    and H3 is the most favorited of us ,it is still very popular in china(mainland ), but it was coming down because of ...,Wog gives us the platform . Hope the everthing of 359 Version would goes smoothly !!

    Sure, I'd like to join and discuss with OUR team members. I'm neither a programer nor an artist, all I can do, is just sharing my ideas. Besides, game testing and translating. Hope thoes things will come in handy.

    I know exactly what you said. Life is mutable and everything goes changing. Do what we plan to do and enjoy it may be the most happy thing.

    I think what he wants to express is, it's a pity that lots of wog fans may not play 359 before its final release.

    Btw -  is there some Chinese version of WOG? Someone of you did such localization?

    Yes, we do have some people who localized wog into Chinese Version. So all Chinese wog fans are enjoying the Chinese WoG358F now. Briefly speaking, we have two different ways to localize the Exe. file. It's difficult to me to explain it due to my pool English. If you and GrayFace have interest in this, I'll send the interrelated files to you.

    PS: Poet is a programer who can take part in. I strongly recommend this brilliant guy.
