加拿大女歌手Sarah McLachlan（莎拉·麦克拉克兰）
生于一九六八年一月二十八日，加拿大的Nova Scotia。
并在当地的皇家音乐学院进行学习。主修古典吉他、钢琴以及声乐。
十七岁时自组乐队October Game为Nettwerk公司看中。
但由于家人的反对，直到两年后完成学业，Sarah才正式签约。

一九八八年，Sarah正式推出了第一张专辑Touch「感动」。
展现给人们的是一个极富激情的音乐世界。
五年的声乐训练加上令人羡慕的天资使得她的嗓音充满了感染力。

三年后，Sarah找到新的合作伙伴，制作人Pierre Marchand。
两位Peter Gabriel迷很快带来了合作成果，
Sarah的第二张专辑Solace「慰藉」。
专辑受到乐评的肯定，同时吸引了乐迷的关注
